Archeology Uncovered

Ku-wait. Arche-ology. Not many think they mix, but they do - sometimes overwhelmingly. I work at the National Museum in the Archeology Department. Here are my ongoings... [email me at ArcheologyUncovered [at] gmail [dot] com ]

Hatin' Running.

So i had a conversation with my boss yesterday.

He basically said (laughingly but cautiously), 'just becuase we tell you this/you know this doesn't mean that you should make a big deal about it'.

I said, 'so you want me to keep quiet about the fact that people's names were added as 'archeologists' when i've never even heard of them'. 'or about the fact that this dude whose name just got added but who i hate becuase he's useless, crass, and obnoxious is now 'part of the team' becuase he's married to the head's daughter?' or, no, no, wait for it, 'you want me me to keep quiet about the fact that for the past month the chemist and i havn't been paid the kd400+ becuase our names weren't added to the list yet this [insert name here] dude who i've never even heard of gets paid?!'

I mean, there's talking to your boss becuase he's your boss, and then there's also talking to someone older becuase it's i7tiram, and then it's talking to someone who is either oblivious to your plight or just doesn't give a flying fucker. I've long ago given up that anyone at work deserves any respect. There's professional courtesy, sure. But no respect for those that are either in cahoots with all the bullshit that goes on or who simply turn a blind eye to what is obviously wrong.

But then,
the little jagged edges, the glue on your skin, peeling off your capillaries, the ink on your shirt, the smell of animal bones, and the occasional dead insect, not to mention the fact that you're dealing with archeological artifacts, makes it up.

[almost]

But if Alejandra, who i've mentioned before as earnestly believing that i was so much better than the KNM, came to work today and spent an hour or so watching me do mah thang, and becoming excited about it, finally realized how good i am at it, then maybe i should realize that i'm doing something i love.

Any English teacher i've ever had will shoot me if they read this, what with the run-ons and the incoherant thoughts.

So i'll go now,
becuase i need to travel before i start work again on the 6th.

It just might be my saving grace.

Later, beet cheese!
