Kuwait 7000

























According to archaeologists, Kuwait looked a little different from this 7000 years ago.
My ‘Alma Mater’, University College London, has been conducting an Archaeological investigation (<-- click it!!!!) in Kuwait for several years, in partnership with Kuwait’s Department of Antiquities and Museums.
Not only was Kuwait greener 7000 years ago, but they have been investigating major settlements with stone walls, pottery and other artefacts which demonstrate that the area which is now Kuwait was a major trading post between Mesopotamia (now Iraq, Syria etc) and the Gulf, even then.
This kind of story should make us feel very humble. We are just continuing what our forefathers did thousands of years ago. I wonder how far the oldest Kuwaiti trading family can trace its roots?
