Randomness & Jordan

First things first, naturally.

It took me, after thinking i was horribly late, only 20 minutes to get to work.
If i think and dwell upon that fact, i'm going to start questioning the universe's claims to fame.
I'm thinking that leaving home at 7:30 and being on-time (ie: b4 8:00) is the way that the road rage gods pay me back.
Thank you, btw. Much appreciation.
.............................................................................

I arrived at work knowing full well that i had to get my behind in gear if i am really going to go to Jordan.

So i got excused to go do all the necessary harrasing and such.

1st stop: My bank for travel/medical/and accident insurance. It took me about half an hour to get from the KNM to Nuzha. My 1st, 2nd, 3rd ring-road friends scoffed at me. Told 'em to come to my Fahaheel, 6th, and 7th.... :D

Whilst there, non-7ukooma-like angel-lady called to tell me she finally just recieved all my papers (yay!). Went to her. Thanked her for honestly just being so great and non-annoying. Went to Secretary who had to get the mudeer to sign everything.

These are my notes (on a Mandarin Oriental envelope, no less):
- she gave the photocopying guy 5kd for 'kert icks-ebres'
-green halter-top dress w/ shrug & shiny oversized silver bag
- food cart; enough said.
- marie claire in my bag. why?! but thank you.
- women's bathroom super cool. head has her own locked door.
- i still havn't had breakfast & my laptop is burning in my car.
- the weak, anemic-looking girl who looks like she's having the worst cramps in her life
- the old dude who burped
- the people who come in all islamically-inclined and who all seem to ask about studying in egypt.
- reading stories online on my phone is cool.

So yes.
Random, but very, very important.

Lots of running around. But thankfully, everything went smoothly. Requested the money goes into direct-deposit, and the only thing i now have to do is brace myself for the Kuwait Airways experience (ticket issued through them).

So, you all figured out what this means, right?

I'm officially going to Jordan.

And i'm officially bribing people to visit on weekends (friday-saturday).

...........................................................................................
But now,
random-picture time.

While waiting, this kept going back and forth. It's a guy with a tray filled with snacks and such. He goes around the cubicles.

The cart has everything from Kleenex to Cokes to Loaker to little sandwiches.

Here, lol, i have to grab a handful of 3-in-1 Nescafe pouches and keep them in my desk, lest Bu A7med continue with his current coffee obsession and finish my box (he goes through 3 or 4 a day).

This is the fifth floor of the Civil Service Commission building in Shwaikh.

(They have no parking for visitors.)

The building is awesome, and even though there's 209 people rushing to get their paperworks done, they never seem to crowd the place too badly.

For non-work-related pictures:

I don't get this advertisement.
I don't particularly like this advertisement.
And is it just me or is it slightly offensive?

Feminists, have a field day with this ;p
the lol.

Oh, no, honey.
You kitchen is not my kitchen.
And i sure as hell won't get to know you at a local branch.

You're here to listen as i bark my order with my bratty kids,
bring my food to my table,
clean up the table after me,
and smile while i talk at you condescendingly in Kuwaiti.

But 2 points for not featuring an oozing burger...

I think that's all.
Maybe.

And remember: you're not being spoiled when even your boss tells you to stay away from the provided accomadations.

The closest hotels that i just might be able to walk to work from are the Radisson SAS and the Safir Imperial Palace. Anyone know how far they are from the UNESCO building on Wadi Saqra St.?
(Google Earth didn't have street names :/

Until Saturday Inshallah.
Be safe at sea!
